ReplyDeleteHi Vikas,
ReplyDeleteTo answer to your question. You can call up to the AirTel customer Care and ask them to activate 3G on your cell phone. Remember to mention your phone model while you talk to Customer care executive. You can opt to choose which pack you want to go for (100mb or 256mb etc...).
AirTel customer executive will send you a message to your cellphone which will automatically configure the "Mobile Office" on your cell phone.
Here after, you can follow the procedure that I had listed in my above article.
Please leave your reply. Whether it worked or not..
It worked for me... thanx a lot... keep me posted with whatever new findings u come across for Samsung Galaxy Ace... :)
ReplyDeleteThanx

Sachin
Hi All,
ReplyDeleteSorry, I forget to mentioned handset model.
I have 2 handsets.
1. Nokia5230
2. Samsung Corby Pro
Please do let me know if we active 3g on handset, will it be possible to deactivate it later, n use 2g on it.
Thanks in advance!
Sachin
Hi Sachin,
ReplyDeleteYou can deactivate the 3G on your cell phone/smartphone by talking to respective service provider (ex: AirTel, Vadaphone etc ...).
I don't think, you can browse using 2G till you have 3G activated on your phone.
Please revert back for any queries.
thanx that worked for me,
ReplyDeleteHi how to enable 3G on Samsung Galaxy Ace using BSNL?
ReplyDeleteDid you get any chance to talk to BSNL customer care representative to activate any of the 3G plan on your smart phone?
ReplyDeleteI think, on activating any of the 3G plan for your BSNL number, will automatically download the settings on to your smart phone.
Please revert back for any further queries and please remember to share your knowledge once you find it working....
I have Gingerbread and I clearly remember selecting the option to only use 2G networks as it saves battery. Now I want to activate my Vodafone 3G but I cannot find this button again. It was there on Froyo for sure but I cant find it on Gingerbread
ReplyDeleteI missed the reply button and posted as a thread.
Deletehere's the reply:
The 2g mode can be activated in Gingerbread by going to
Settings > Wireless & network settings > Mobile networks > Network mode > select GSM only.
you can use auto mode to switch between 2G and 3G automatically as per availability.
GSM mode to always prefer 2G.
& WCDMA to prefer 3G.
Hi Rohan,
ReplyDeleteWhat button are you mentioning about?
i want to deactivate 3g in mobile can u please tel me the procedure....
ReplyDeleteYou can get in touch with the respective customer care representative and ask them to de-activate the 3G service.
ReplyDeleteEx:
In case of AirTel, call to customer care service (121) and speak to customer care representative to deactivate the 3G service.

HI guys, I just wanted to say that I have a galaxy ace too. All I did was opt to get the internet pack of my choice, and then I switched my phone off and on. It went from showing "E" on the top bar, to showing "H". So that worked for me. On Galaxy Ace, I did not find the change from one network speed to another option. But this worked, so it's cool! :D
ReplyDelete3G problem
ReplyDeleteHello! I had the same problem after installing the v2.7 Rom MindCr and to enable 3G on my S5830M in Colombia i do the following:
* # * # 4636 # * # * -> Phone Information -> Set preferred network type -> and chose WCDMA preferred, when the indicator turn to E (in the upper right), in the same drop-down list, choose WCDMA Only a little while and then came the 3G indicator, restart and ready!!!.
I hope they work
sorry for my English

I`ve been having trouble for about a week now with no 3g access, went thorough your simple instructions and hey presto problem solved, thanks very much for advice.
ReplyDeleteI had changed the date as it wrongly showed 04/03/2013 on 03/03/2013.
ReplyDeleteAfter that I'm having two problems.
1. I am not able to see the messages I send and receive in a
conversation. After deleting the conversation new messages sent and
received are displayed. But that's not the point. What about all the
messages that were not recorded at all ?
2. Even the log does not save any of this info including the missed
calls, dialed calls and received calls. What could be the problem ? I
know I could delete the log and it would save again but while the log
is full, it doesn't save any new info. Help please !!
P.S Even the history doesn't record this stuff after a certain limit. But after i set the date wrongly as 04/03/2013 the messages that i sent from then on were displayed and even recorded in the log and history..
